Success Criteria
In order for the project to be considered successful it needs to meet the following criteria:
-
Do the IR proximity sensors accurately detect solid objects within 15cm of the sides of the cart? 9/10 times
-
Do the Ultrasonic Proximity sensors accurately detect solid objects including those with 'odd' shapes (Chairs, stools, etc) within 1.5m in front of and behind the cart? 9/10 times
-
Does the IR transmitter track the user within direct line of sight with at least a 3m range? 19/20 times
-
Does the Bluetooth transmitter on the cart and user controller application communicate successfully to allow for the cart to track the user within 3m accuracy? 9/10 times
-
Are the motors able to produce appropriate torque needed to move the cart at full load across carpet? 19/20 times
-
Can the motor drivers supply enough current to the motors? 19/20 times
-
Does the cart navigate around obstacles without colliding with them? 19/20 times
-
Can the cart use Bluetooth to move towards the user across a room or large hallway if the user is no greater than 100m away? 19/20 times
